Delay: PS5 Reveal Postponed

Sony's long awaited PlayStation 5 (PS5), due to be revealed this Friday, 5th June, has been postponed indefinitely. In a statement released via Twitter, Sony announced:

We have decided to postpone the PlayStation®5 event scheduled for June 4 [June 5 in Australia]. While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.

The 'more important voices' are the chants and protests for #blacklivesmatter in the United States in relation to the death of George Floyd.

Sony has not announced a rescheduled date for the reveal, however the PS5 is still set for a holiday launch [summer in Australia] and the COVID-19 pandemic has not changed this nor the proposed price.
